What make sense
Sometimes God's instructions do not seem to make sense. Why is this?He knows things we do not. Think of it like this:
If you see an equation where 1+1=7, you know something is missing
because the sum of 1+1 is not 7. God sees the hidden information--
the 5 that is "missing" as we would reckon it from our perspective.
If you trust only in what you see, hear, taste, smell, and touch,
you may "miss some numbers"; you may base decisions on incomplete
information. Trust God: He sees the whole equation. From His
perspective, it all adds up.
Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You
are to anoint for me the one I indicate." When they arrived, Samuel
saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the Lord's anointed stands here
before the LORD." But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his
appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not
look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward
appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (1 Sam 16:3,6-7 NIV)
